About Abraham

Abraham (Abe), a 35-year-old man, lived a life brimming with passion and an unwavering devotion to his community. A graduate of Lane Tech High School, Abe was a tenacious soccer player whose relentless dedication to the sport set him apart. His exceptional talents led him to Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), where he continued to play soccer both for the school’s team and within private clubs. Abe even had the opportunity to coach the NEIU women's soccer team for a brief period.

While balancing his responsibilities as a student-athlete, Abe's profound commitment to helping others was already evident. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Spanish education and a Master's degree in Teaching Foreign Language, he became a Paraprofessional, dedicating his days to assisting children with special needs. His work in this area deepened his resolve to create a positive impact on the world around him.

Driven by a desire to protect and serve, Abe pursued a career in law enforcement. Despite any uncertainties about his choice, he remained resolute in his determination to excel and make a difference.

Abe recognized that becoming a Chicago police officer would enable him to safeguard and support the community he held so dear. Throughout his life, soccer remained a constant source of happiness and inspiration. He devoted countless hours to the sport, both as a player and coach. To Abe, soccer was more than just a game; it was a means to unite people and foster strong communities.

Abe's dedication to his family and friends knew no bounds. He always made time in his bustling schedule for his loved ones, consistently bringing warmth, a genuine smile, and a kind word to every gathering.

The sudden loss of Abe was a crushing blow to his community, family, and friends. However, his legacy endures through the numerous lives he touched and the unwavering commitment to making the world a better place that will forever be remembered.

In honor of Abe's remarkable life and unwavering belief in the power of education, a nonprofit organization called "Corazón de Oro" was established. This organization aims to empower and support students from Lane Tech High School seeking higher education, as Abe passionately believed in its transformative potential. By providing resources, mentorship, and opportunities, "Corazón de Oro" strives to carry on Abe's legacy of uplifting communities and championing the dreams of aspiring learners.
